what we do   statements    how we connect    why we belong

We are the WEA

WEA members work in Wyoming’s schools, colleges and the university  to help improve public education and the lives of Wyoming’s students. WEA members--more than 5800--provide a wide range of professional education services in communities throughout the state.

Our members teach in kindergarten classrooms, high school labs and university halls. They counsel adolescents and help students carve out career aspirations.  We coach athletes and transport students to and from the schools and extra-curricular events.  We provide professional services to benefit students, schools and the public in virtually every position needed to run Wyoming's schools.

WEA members are dedicated to children and public education.  Since 1895, the WEA has been working to make schools better and improve public education.  Our association is dedicated to working in partnership with parents, community leaders and elected officials to help Wyoming's students and improve public education.

The purpose of the Wyoming Education Association is to promote the cause of public education and improve the quality of teaching and learning.  Through our more than 100 year history, WEA members have been involved in every struggle and effort to advance the finest of America 's dreams: universal, free public education for every child.

How we connect

WEA members work in virtually every public education building or work site in WYOMING. We are also your neighbors, family members, and friends.  We are active in civic and community organizations, places of worship, volunteer and charitable groups and in government.

WEA members support public education and connect every day with individuals and groups. We believe that great public schools should be provided for every child!

In WEA's daily work to promote and advance the cause of public education, WEA works in coalitions and with a wide variety of affiliated groups. To help members connect with such groups and partners, a list of affiliated groups is provided. All affiliated groups that have submitted such information for use on WEA's website are included. Please contact these groups by using the information they have submitted to WEA. Please note that some provide a website link, while others provide only an email address or phone number/address.
